I had applied to have a mortgage loan modification done through this firm and paid $1995.00 up front for the service. Three months previously I had sent documentation directly to my Mortage Lender for the same thing. The Mortgage Lender recently denied my modification, then I received a call from Home Protection Firm telling me the exact same thing that the lender had told me. Contacted HPF and inquired as to what exactly they are doing on my behalf that is different from the lender and that I had paid all that money for. Received unsatisfactory response and now I want my money back. Now when I call the 800 number, and press "O" for the operator, a recording comes on and says "this number is no longer in service". Apparently this is a bogus company, or at the very least they appear to be running a scam! I cannot rate them any lower than 1 star but if I could I would rate them at zero!
